About ‘Cuijk train station with passing train in the evening’ by Marijke Veltmaat

Cuijk railway station is located between route Nijmegen - Venlo. Diesel trains from Arriva run on this route. This will change, by the end of 2024 at the latest, only electric trains will run on this Maaslijn line.

This evening photo was taken on the platform with a special automatic setting on the camera, namely a setting to photograph a start rail/star track.
Photo was taken from a tripod and several photo's were automatically merged. Start shots are taken at the moment the tracks close, then let the train pass and then let the tracks open again. (Shutter time photos's approx 4 sec). After this, stop the shots.
In the image, you can see the light lines of the passing train and the track trees. The lights of the lampposts look like stars due to the longer exposures.

Photo taken as a commission ' Own Theme/ Evening Photography' for photo club Gespot in Mill.
I enjoy taking evening photos's. Sometimes you don't know what a photo will look like afterwards. It is fun to experiment with this.

Publication in KBO-Cuijk magazine ' Het OnderONSje' (September 2023).
