Picture an old American city in the evening after a rainy day. A couple stop their car, get out of the car and decide to start dancing in the bright lights of the car's headlights. A passionate Tango performed in the middle of the street. A moment to remember, a moment of passion of romance, of old times.
This staged scene is built upon different time periods. If you look closely the city (10's) is older then the car (30's), which itself is older then the dress (50's) which is older then the man's outfit (modern).
I am thinking of making different versions in different time periods making this the first part of a series.
My work exists at the intersection of modern Pop Art and Expressionism, with influences from Modernism. Contrast, whether in light, color, or subject, plays a central role in my art. The color red is often prominently featured.
