Dapperduck is no ordinary duck.
He lives in a cosy cottage at the edge of the reeds, where the morning mist whispers and the sun always seems to shine a little softer. His coat, deep red and wonderfully warm, has a memory, according to village tales - it whispers old stories in his ear as soon as Bartholomew puts it on.
Every morning, he straightens his bowler hat, buttons up his coat and strolls stately to the village square. There he tells the young animals stories that even the trees had forgotten: about flying fish, dancing mushrooms and a mole that had accidentally tasted the moon.
No one knows exactly how old Dapperduck is, or where he came from. But everyone knows one thing for sure: as long as he wears his coat, the stories will never end.
- This intriguing artwork shows a duck with a strikingly human appearance, dressed in a sophisticated Victorian outfit. The duck wears a deep burgundy coat of coarse fabric, a layered, lace collar, and a matching bowler hat with a subtle band. The use of colour is warm and nostalgic, with a soft sepia-like background reminiscent of old paintings or early photographic portraits. The duck's pose exudes dignity and mysterious charm, as if he has just stepped out of a fantasy story or a fairytale village.
The style is with rich textures, soft lighting and a touch of humour and melancholy. A subtle homage to folklore and fables in which animals take on human traits, blurring the lines between reality and imagination. -
