About "Dark girl with the pearl earring, after Johannes Vermeer"

About the artwork

A beautiful and creative variation on Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring. This beautiful African girl would not have been immortalised like this anytime soon in the seventeenth century, but luckily we can now make up for that time! Using both photo technique, and (digital) painting technique, I created this beautiful portrait. Because paint and photo merge, you can keep looking at this work. Beautiful in any interior. Until 1995, Vermeer's original painting was known as Girl with turban. Only at the Mauritshuis did they decide that Girl with a Pearl Earring was a better name. Vincent Icke concluded in 2014 that the earring cannot be a pearl: its mirror reflection, pear shape and size are foreign to a common pearl. After being confronted with the fact that the pearl in the painting is not a pearl, the museum said it did not want to change the name again anyway.

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
