About ‘Day of the Dead’ by Quinta Mandala

Artwork for the legendary "Day of the Dead", which is celebrated every year in Mexico.
The motif is a skeleton, which is skilfully decorated with fresh flower heads. The colours white and red refer to the two states of being - life and death.

The bonnet is formed from predominantly large, red flowers, while smaller white flowers trickle over the shoulders like a veil.
At the front, in the chest region, small blossom heads intermingle to form a beautiful pattern. Two large red flowers attached to the left and right of the breast honour the nurturing mother.

Although the work appears mystical and perhaps disturbing at first, it is colourful and life-affirming. It is a wonderful motif for all proponents of magical worlds and suitable spaces.

The motif was created using Photoshop and an image generator in my own style.

As a gift idea, the art print together with a selected frame will certainly bring a lot of joy.
