This artwork featuring a pottery violin made around 1705 - ca 1710 (owned by the Rijksmuseum).
The violin and several old flower drawings were merged and digitally manipulated to form a new and modern still life.

This earthenware violin cannot be played. It is an ornamental object. When the violin was purchased by collector John Loudon in 1876 for a record sum of 1,500 guilders, it was considered the absolute pinnacle of Delftware production. The modeling and paintings make this an exceptional object.
Dutch designer Mijke Konijn creates the most beautiful designs from her studio in Loenen aan de Vecht. Originally a graphic designer, she enjoyed working in fashion for about twelve years.
