About ‘Deva in temple, Cambodia’ by Rietje Bulthuis
Deva in temple, Cambodia.
Devata is a collective name for divine or heavenly (female) figures. They are often sculpted in the walls and at entrances. You can find them in both Hinduism and Buddhism. They are creatures that live on a higher level of existence than humans. The devata includes angels as well as gods like God and Brahma.

I like to take pictures of nature and landscapes. Travelling is my passion. I also like to occasionally apply in photoshop effects, or create new designs, thus creating digital art. Also art and culture in other countries have my interest. I created many albums in my shop: panoramas, landscapes, animals, people, flowers, various countries, buddhas and more. Besides photography I am involved in sculpting and painting. My other work can be seen on Visit shop
