The Diamond Beach (Icelandic: Breiðamerkursandur or Fellsfjara) is a famous black sand beach on the south-east coast of Iceland, near the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. It owes its popular nickname to the numerous ice floes and icebergs that float from the glacial lagoon into the ocean and then wash up on the jet-black volcanic sand.
