Two face-centered cubic lattices, shifted by one fourth of the space diagonals of one of the cubes. The atoms on the shifted positions become the centers of tetrahedrons formed by four atoms of the unshifted part.

Elke Stangl (elkement) is an Austrian physics PhD working as an engineer. Her mathematical art is borne out of her life-long passion for the theoretical underpinnings of her craft. She is creating virtual three-dimensional structures from mathematical functions – digitally with code or with ruler and compass, using traditional techniques of descriptive geometry.
