These blocks of ice are thrown by the waves of the sea in southern Iceland onto the beach where a beautiful glow becomes visible in the ice at sunrise. Not for nothing that this place is called Diamond Beach.
The ice comes from the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier and is transported to the sea via the Jökullsárlón ice lake before being thrown back onto the black pebble beach by the tide.
