The government of Germany is located in the building of the Reichstag in Berlin. A dome is built on the top of the building to the design of the famous English architect Sir Norman Foster. This dome is 23 meters high and 40 meters wide and publicly accessible. Visitors can walk up a spiral staircase and enjoy the view over Berlin from the top. The railing shown on this picture is mounted on a part of the dome and intended to absorb sunlight and prevent the room and the parlor from becoming too hot.
