Collage of the colourful doors in Rua de Santa Maria in Funchal on Madeira island. This street was in danger of becoming impoverished. So artist Jose Maria Montero Zyberchema came up with the idea of having the doors painted. The project was named Arte Portas Abertas. The street revived. Restaurants and cafes popped up. And it became a tourist attraction.
