Dream 18032023 (kissing) by Anna Kautenburger

Dream 18032023 Kissing
Anna Kautenburger (AnKa)

This watercolour is part of my ‘Dream’ series; since 2015, I have been regularly painting lucid dreams and adding text to describe the events in the dream

This dream was about passion, desire, being in love and the joy of kissing ;)
The original measures 30 x 40 cm; it is a portrait-format painting on Torchon watercolour paper.

The motif consists of many kissing mouths painted in a light, illustrative style, complemented by splashes of water. The painting is rendered in warm shades of red, pink and purple.
There are many colour nuances and transitions, ranging from light pink and violet to bold shades of pink and red.
Handwritten text, painted with a brush, can be seen in the picture, which reads: ‘I cover the object of my desire with kisses.’

The signature ‘AnKa’ (short for Anna Kautenburger) can be seen in the bottom right-hand corner of the picture. There is also a date in the bottom right-hand corner showing ‘17’ on ‘18032023’, referring to the night in March when the dream was dreamt.

The picture is ideal for a more intimate space, such as a bedroom, or as a gift for a loved one – and, of course, for anyone newly in love or on Valentine’s Day.
