The idea behind the picture is to show 40 years of evolution in engine construction while maintaining one of the original values, the Desmodromic valve actuation to this day.
Because the engine has no valve springs and closes the valves with separate rocker arms, a torquey engine characteristic can be realized without taking into account the danger of "floating" valves...
