Two Royal Netherlands Air Force CH-47 Chinook transport helicopters fly in formation over the vast Beekhuizerzand training area in the Netherlands. These heavy transport helicopters, recognisable by their characteristic tandem rotors, play a crucial role in military operations ranging from troop transport and logistics support to medical evacuations and humanitarian missions. During this training flight, pilots and crew will be prepared for a variety of missions, with precision, coordination and flying skills being key.
Beekhuizerzand, with its open sandy plains and wooded surroundings, provides an ideal location for exercises in a variety of conditions. The looming clouds and dynamics of helicopters in the sky create an imposing and powerful image of military readiness. Through intensive training, the Royal Air Force remains ready to deploy quickly and effectively, both nationally and internationally.

It remains a spectacle every time to see these machines in action and capture them on camera.
