Every two years, Groenlo goes back in time almost 400 years to the year 1627. The Battle of Grolle is a recurring historical event that re-enacts the Siege of Grol by Frederick Henry (Prince of Orange) on behalf of the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands.
As many as 1,500 re-enactors come together to re-enact this historic battle in the Netherlands' patriotic history.
