Wonderful typical Dutch image: a Dutch watermill towers above a field of yellow rapeseed with its sails. Above the mill, a blue sky with white and grey clouds. The mill is made of wood painted green and has a thatched underside. The vastness of this image is enhanced by the positioning of the mill and the horizon at the bottom of the image and the emptiness of the cloudy sky above. A fine, digitally textured layer has been applied over the image, giving the work the look of a painting painted on canvas.
In the 70's, as a girl of about 8 years old, I took pictures with my father's old SLR camera.
Hence perhaps my preference for serene black and white photos, but I also like to unpack with lots of color.
