Shortly after Earth's formation, about 4.6 billion years ago, our planet was in a very hot and chaotic state. It was covered in magma and underwent intense bombardment of space debris. Over time, Earth cooled down and a crust began to form. The presence of water vapour in the atmosphere led to heavy rainfall, resulting in the formation of oceans. Although it was still a harsh and inhospitable world, the first steps towards the formation of modern Earth began to emerge.
