On a clear afternoon, I was standing near Polderbaan at Schiphol Airport when an EasyJet aircraft came into view. The photo captures the moment the orange-and-white Airbust A320-A321 just touched down from the low cloud base, a moment full of gentle landing and precision. The pilots navigate the flying take they low approach route, with the landing gear already visible and the eyelashes of the airmen starting from speed. The air flies screech down on the axis of runway, a symphony of technique and timing. The wide wings and distinctive colours of the aircraft attract attention as it settles into a slight incline towards the tarmac. For me as an aircraft spotter and photographer, this image is a moment of confirmation: a successful mission ending safely.
