What an impressive moment to observe a red deer in peace and quiet. Grazing quietly but always alert to what's happening around him. He knew I was there, but he just went ahead. Looking around and looking for something I didn't know about. Moments later he disappeared into the shadows of the forest. I stood still for a while.

"Alone, but along with the weather, the wind and my camera looking for the most beautiful light. I think that's one of the most beautiful things to do. A large part of the pictures on this website I took in the region where I live, in the north of the Netherlands, at the 'Golden Raand' of the Wadden Sea. This beautiful area offers plenty of opportunity to do so. With the wide views over the Wadden Sea to the beautiful forest landscapes in Westerwolde and Friesland I am far from finished.
To catch the most beautiful light, getting up early is often necessary and often quite difficult. But every time again it is a great moment when I arrive at a location, turn off the car and during my first mug of hot coffee I am standing in a world that is still asleep and I am allowed to look for the right moment, in the most beautiful place with the most beautiful light.
I hope you enjoy looking at my pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them. If you have purchased a work from me, I would love to receive a message from you by email about how the work hangs on your wall.
