The circumzenital arc is a halo (optical appearance around sun and moon) created by refraction of sunlight and ice crystals and not like a rainbow by reflection of sunlight in droplets. The circumzenital arc is straight above the great circle (46 degrees) around the sun and is very colourful and bright. The convex side is facing the sun and red while the inside is violet in colour. The arc often appears at the same time as the side suns when the sun is not too high (15-25 degrees). I am Richard Heerschap, live in Oosterend, on the beautiful island of Texel, and work independently as a (Texel) photographer. Since the arrival of our 3rd daughter, I unfortunately had to put the hobby of model flying aside (blame the kids) due to (repair) lack of space.
Almost all my pictures are composed of multiple photos to get the biggest possible picture that even printed extremely large does not lose its quality.
