About ‘Elbbrücke Dömitz (Eisenbahn)’ by Richard Wareham

Dömitz Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Germany Elbbrücke Dömitz (Eisenbahn) defunct railway bridge across the River Elbe. When built the bridge on the part of the Wittenberge-Buchholz railway was the longest in Germany. Destroyed during the war, post war repairs were superfluous as each end of the bridge were either side of the Cold War Iron Curtain. Dömitz Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Deutschland Elbbrücke Dömitz (Eisenbahn) stillgelegte Eisenbahnbrücke über die Elbe. Die Brücke auf dem Teilstück der Bahnstrecke Wittenberge-Buchholz war im Bauzustand die längste Deutschlands. Während des Krieges zerstört, were Nachkriegsreparaturen überflüssig, da jedes Ende der Brücke zu beiden Seiten des Eisernen Vorhangs des Kalten Krieges lay.
