Developed in the 1960s around the power plant, it exhibits a mix of modern and traditional. Welcoming inhabitants and green spaces characterise the city. As a transport hub, Elektrėnai has good road and rail connections. Industry, including factories, supports the local economy. Tourist attractions and natural areas in the area are also present.
