In Moremi, we came across this solitary elephant. He was very quiet so we stayed with him for a while which we thought he didn't mind at all. Here I was standing right in front of him. This is always exciting because it is common for them to kill people. Yet I don't really feel fear of them when they are calm. To be honest, I always feel very good around elephants. As long as you respect them and keep calm.
I myself live part of the year in Hoedspruit, South Africa, in an area where elephants roam freely and also sometimes visit our house. Because there are 'sweeties' as an African neighbour joked. We have some plants there that they do love. But if you clearly say no they do walk on. Only to mischievously come back when you are not there. Because they remember everything!
