In early 2020, I visited Oman. Just before the moment the skies closed and the world went on lockdown for a period due to the corona pandemic. On the last plane towards Amsterdam, I flew home again but one day I will return to Oman because the country really stole my heart.
In Muscat, I photographed the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. A must-see if you visit the country. In 1992, the then Sultan of Oman, Qaboos bin Said Al Said, decided that his country should have a Grand Mosque. Construction began in December 1994 and it took six years and seven months to build the mosque.
