“Ember Sun VIII” combines clear symmetry with the characteristic warmth and darkness of the EMBER BLOOM series. The sunflower appears as a glowing circle of light, its warm red, orange and gold tones slowly emerging from the deep black. The central composition creates a calm, almost meditative effect. The dark centre remains completely hidden in shadow, whilst the surrounding petals form the focal point of the work, like glowing flames. It is precisely this contrast between light and darkness that lends the photograph its intense atmosphere.
