A stunning evening shot of the romantic Schwerin castle in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
With the last glimpse of evening light, the castle appears to be made of gold. The castle stands on an island in Lake Schwerin and is connected to the shore by a low bridge. At the back of the castle there is also a castle garden, accessible via a bridge.
For centuries, it was the residence of the dukes and grand dukes of Mecklenburg and Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Now it is used as the seat of the parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Note. There is a construction scaffold in front of a small part of the castle and one of the towers at the back is also surrounded by a construction scaffold.
