About "Explosive Spirals of Color (Coral Series #05)"

About the artwork

The subject of this abstract work is intense color and form. The choice of variegated colors creates a striking work, which broadly consists of four quadrants. These resemble each other, yet are slightly different.

Lines and patterns recur in the quadrants with sharp contrasts.

The sculpture is suitable as 'variegated' wall covering for interiors where this has an added value.

The basis for this image is a fractal. A fractal is a fascinating phenomenon to me. A fractal is the result of a mathematical formula. This formula determines a value for each pixel of the image, which can have very different results for adjacent pixels. The resulting value is translated into a color using a separate algorithm. The combination of regularity and instability of the formula and the choices made in the color algorithm, result in exceptionally beautiful patterns in the image.

This image is one from the coral series. This series contains very different elaborations of the same basic fractal, developed by Dave Makin in 2000. The images are on the order of 48 - 64 Mpixels in size and therefore show a high degree of detail and sharpness.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
