About the artwork
"Extreme close-up of the "radiant" heart of a white flower (Helleborus)" is an extreme macro photo of the heart of a Helleborus. The focus of this photo is on the green part of the heart. On the flower (and therefore also on the heart of the flower) are small water droplets.
The water droplets lying on the flower give a nice effect because of the weather reflection/distortion in the droplets of the surroundings/flower. Because there was a dark object above and a little to the side of the flower, a nice dark line appears in some of the drops, accentuating them a little more.
The pastel colours create a calm atmosphere, which is enhanced by the shallow depth of field. This was chosen when making this photo to give the feeling of depth in the image.
This photo was taken with a more extreme macro lens than is normally used. This magnifies the subject even more and you start to see elements you had probably never seen before: "The wonderful world of extreme macro photography". See, for example, the reflection in the drops? This work could "shine" as a wall decoration in the waiting room, bedroom or, of course, simply above the sofa! ©Marjolijn van den Berg
