This is one of the old warehouses still standing near the Koningin Wilhelminahaven in Vlaardingen. They date back to about 1900. When you stand in front of the old warehouse and look up, you can see the doors of the storage space with the beam in between, to which the pulley used to be attached to hoist things that needed to be stored upwards. Next to and above the doors of the storage room were windows. The round window in the ridge has been bricked up. The other two are blinded. The paint on the walls is blistered and the hinges rusted. The ravages of time are very apparent to the warehouse. The building contrasts nicely with the light blue sky with white clouds.
A piece of history that I'm sure has great stories to tell. Probably this warehouse will disappear in the course of time, to make way for new construction. This photo is then a nice reminder of old times.
This picture is from my Villa Joep Collection. The proceeds (my commission) I donate entirely to the Villa Joep Foundation. I sincerely hope that you will order something beautiful from this special Villa Joep Collection for charity!
