The Neigem forest is a remnant of the old 'Coal Forest' that ran from Picardy to Brabant in Roman times. The forest is characterised by its strongly varying relief, varying from 20m to 90m. The deep hollow roads reveal the long history of the forest. In spring the woods turn purple with the wood hyacinths, but also the yellow and white of wild daffodils and wild garlic can charm many.
