Money is any object or measurable indication that is generally accepted in a given country or within a given socio-economic context as payment for goods and services and the repayment of debts. The main functions of money are: a medium of exchange, a unit of account, a store of value, a means of compensation (fine) and, occasionally, a unit for deferred payment.
As a means of economic exchange, money differs from other means of exchange in that it does not immediately pay the counterparty, but can be used for further exchange transactions on the basis of general and legal recognition.
