Father Christmas – Can’t hear a thing

by AidasignArt

If there’s something you don’t want to hear, you simply don’t hear it! Drawing freely on the traditional wisdom of Confucius’s three wise monkeys, Santa Claus has developed his very own method of escaping the pre-Christmas din. With both index fingers deep in his ears, raised eyebrows and a mischievous grin, he seems to be saying: Christmas wishes, wish lists, complaints about late presents? Not today, I’m afraid! Whether he really can’t hear a thing or is just pretending remains his little Christmas secret. The bright red leather outfit with white fur trimmings and golden accents forms a striking contrast to the cracked, light-coloured stone wall. The lavishly shimmering gold veins and sparkling particles lend the composition a magnificent, almost magical aura. Santa’s lively facial expressions make the work a humorous eye-catcher with an unmistakable character.

As part of a specially designed triptych, the motif, together with its two counterparts, creates a special effect. Even as a standalone piece, it adds a cheerful, festive touch to Christmas décor.

The work is part of the series ‘Santa Claus Reimagined – Santa on a New Mission’, which reimagines Santa Claus beyond his traditional role with humour, creativity and surprising ideas.
