About ‘Feestmaaltijd voor de wederopstanding’ by Jeroen Quirijns

Punchinello's vieren het feest van de wederopstanding. Punchinello is een hermafrodiet dus kan hij/zij zichzelf bevruchten alleen kan dit geschieden door het eten van pasta, tarwe wel te verstaan. Het omhulsel van het tarwezaadje moet eerst "dood" gaan en maakt dan plaats voor nieuw leven; De Wederopstanding. Het eten van pasta's krijgt een bijna sacrale betekenis.
Punchinello is net als Hermes een zielenbegeleider en boodschapper van en naar de onderwereld, de wereld van Hades en Persephone.
Puncinello is ook een personage uit de commedia dell'arte ontstaan in ong. 1630 rond de Italiaanse stad Napels
