About ‘Femme et jeune garçon’ by Low Profile

"Femme et jeune garçon, étude pour l’enfance de Sixte Quint" (style Lowpoly) inspiration from a painting by Jean-Victor Schnetz in (French, 1787 – 1870)

A student of David, Gros, and Gérard, Victor Schnetz made his mark at the Salon as the "leader of a new genre painting," depicting scenes of everyday Italian life. Having failed to win the Prix de Rome, he traveled to Italy at his own expense starting in 1817, staying at the Villa Medici while escaping academic constraints. This allowed him to explore the Roman countryside, where he found inspiration in the mountains and villages, portraying richly dressed peasant women engaged in rural and often devout activities. "The Childhood of Sixtus V," exhibited at the Salon of 1824 and now in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Arras (fig. 1), depicts the young Felix Peretti, who would become Pope Sixtus V in 1585, on his mother's lap. Only the coat of arms of the Holy See on the stone behind their heads allows us to see in this colorful work a more historical significance than the simple representation of a fortune teller.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
