About ‘Fisherman with his son on Inle Lake in Myanmar’ by Anges van der Logt

Lake Inle is a lake in Myanmar. It is known for its villages built on stilts, floating orchards and leg rowers. The lake is over 20 km long and at its widest over 5 km. It is located about 400 km north of the former capital Yangon. Around and on Inle Lake, the Intha minority live, often in villages with houses built on stilts. The most famous village is Ywama, built in the lake, with wooden houses on stilts and canals as streets. Parts of the village are connected by wooden bridges. Also on the lake are floating orchards. The Intha's create them by tying up a layer of earth with marsh plants. This keeps the earth floating. All kinds of vegetables are grown on it. There are several workshops on and around the lake: there are weaving mills, blacksmiths and cigar factories. The Intha's have their own way of rowing. Like the gondolier in Venice, the oarsman stands on the boat, but - instead of using two hands - he clamps the oar between one hand and one leg.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
