The Laguna Colorada, located in the heart of the Salar d'Uyuni in Bolivia, is a breathtaking sight with its intense red waters. This alkaline lake is a favourite spot for observing pink flamingos, which come here to feed. On this morning, a flock of these magnificent birds feeds peacefully in the shallow waters, pecking at the insects and algae that colour the water of the lagoon. The red colour of the water contrasts wonderfully with the white and pink feathers of the flamingos. The immensity of this desert landscape, where volcanoes rise in the distance and the dry, pure air seems to hang in the air, accentuates the beauty of this moment. The Laguna Colorada is not only a refuge for flamingos, but also for other species endemic to the region. This is a must-see for those wishing to discover the unique biodiversity of southern Bolivia and enjoy the tranquillity of this almost supernatural landscape.
