A recent visit to Katwijk aan zee (Netherlands) did not quite bring me what I was hoping for. I wanted to photograph seals, but they did not show themselves. However, there were whole groups of flying seagulls to be seen and I thoroughly enjoyed them. It was not only beautiful to observe them moving in groups through the air, landing and taking off again. But it was also great fun to capture these birds with a long shutter speed. You can then really see the dynamics and the movement of the wings, but also how they move through each other as a group. And all this without touching each other.
In this photo, the waves seem to turn into flying seagulls and vice versa. Almost in the spirit of Maurits Cornelis Escher (Famous Dutch artist). It is almost an abstract image this way.
I can see this picture hanging as wallpaper in someone's room, but also in a company, shop or restaurant on the coast. But also as a painting/canvas you have a fascinating image hanging on the wall that keeps you looking.
