The seed fluff of a spent straw flower is about to blow with the wind to become straw flowers again next year. This macro photo has a deliberately limited sharpness. In the front of the photo, the fluff and the flower are sharp and then comes the blur which detaches the flower from the background and makes the photo more three-dimensional.
In terms of colour and atmosphere, it is a true autumn photo of a faded flower. It is part of the series of photographs generally titled: "Abstract nature, still lifes of fading life." And a beautiful still life it certainly is.
