A macro photo of a hoverfly. This hoverfly sat down right in front of the lens on a leaf and started brushing itself.
They look like a wasp and are often confused with it but there are 360 species of hoverfly.
I had the macro lens on the camera so before the hoverfly went off due to my movements I was able to take a few pictures of it.
The big eyes kept a close eye on me and the slightest movement made the fly sit still.
Focusing quickly and taking photos was what I did in the hope that there would be a nice and well-sharp photo among them.
The background is dark and the fly is sitting nicely in the light so there is a fine contrast in this photo.
