With the Ford Thunderbird Flair Bird, the number of cars sold exceeded a quarter of a million for the first time, with 236,613 units sold between 1964 and 1966, and again there was a 2-door Hardtop Coupe, 2-door Landau and 2-door Convertible.
The T-Birds of these years are regarded as typical American "personal luxury cars" - a mixture of sportiness and comfort that was particularly popular with American customers.
In comparison to earlier generations, the design was significantly purified and adapted to the fashion trends of the sixties.
