'Forest Walk' is an abstract painting made of acrylic paint on paper. The painting is composed of many layers painted intuitively and paste-like. This way, you can still see the different layers peeling through nicely and there is an exciting layering in the work.
For me, the inspiration for this artwork comes from the contrasting interaction between green and red shades. Green symbolises growth and harmony, while red adds energy and passion. By also using softer colour variations of both green and red, the sometimes hard parts of the work also come together in a softer way. This also brings a softness to the abstract painting.
Hi, my name is Lianne! Since childhood, I have always been into drawing and painting. By experimenting myself, I have learnt different techniques. As an autodidact, I search for my own style and always keep improving it.
My artworks are varied and fall into two categories. On the one hand, I create expressive works with acrylic paint and oil pastels on canvas or paper. On the other hand, I create detailed pen drawings of animals. This variety keeps my work fresh and challenging.
My creative process often starts with inspiration from colours and shapes I see around me. For my expressive work, I translate these impressions into abstract art. For my pen and ink drawings, on the other hand, I look for a black-and-white picture that inspires me and, on the contrary, immerse myself completely in the details.
Impressionist artists inspire me, especially through their use of colour and light. Although my work is abstract, the influence of nature is evident in the play of light and dark that I try to capture.
