Fountains Abbey near Ripon in North Yorkshire, England is the ruins of a Cistercian monastery founded in 1132. It is part of Studley Royal Park, a landscape park developed around the abbey's ruins. Along with the park, Fountains Abbey has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986.
Truus Nijland is a passionate photographer who has a penchant for abandoned buildings such as castles, monasteries, churches and industrial locations.
