"Fragile and fragile but still so happy together" is a macro photograph of a still life of two lanterns from the lantern plant (Physalis). These lanterns are from the same plant, but both at different stages of decay. The lantern on the right still has its orange "skin" and this orange skin is almost intact but dried by the sun, making the veins beautifully visible. The little lantern on the left, on the other hand, has almost completely lost its orange "skin" and the beautiful vein structure is all that remains, together with the stem and the orange berry. This vein structure is warm in colour and looks almost golden.
If you zoom in on this photo, you can see this clearly. You can then also see that a not-so-big depth of field was chosen when taking this photo. I chose this to get a sense of depth in the photo.
The background of this simple still life is of a kind of reflective material which has a distinct structure in it. This gives a nice effect, breaking up the reflection of the lanterns and giving them a picturesque look.
This picture can hang beautifully as wall decoration in, for example, the waiting room, bedroom or simply above the couch in the living room!
