They are, for me at least, definitely not the easiest flowers to photograph. The wind is very strong on them. They are also often a bit hidden between other stuff, making the picture look too messy, but when it does work a bit, I go home happy, with a smile on my face.
While it is fantastic to see the play of the wind over the poppies, it is extremely difficult to capture this mesmerising dynamic. Here I have tried to do so anyway by making use of the blur of the foreground suggesting movement through different light intensity.
In my opinion, this image fits in both classical and modern settings.
