Frida was a famous Mexican painter known for her symbolic and colourful self-portraits. She painted around 55 self-portraits. Frida used painting as a form of self-therapy to express the physical and emotional pain she suffered as a result of a serious accident and her turbulent marriage to the painter Diego Rivera. Her self-portraits are powerful metaphors of her life, her ancestry, her childlessness and her political convictions.
In this picture, we visit Frida in her studio. For lovers of her portraits, it is a pleasure to watch her in the process of creation. So many artist portraits in one picture - simply marvellous. I certainly had a lot of fun making them.
