A spent hydrangea got a layer of ice crystals on its upper petals during a night frost with fog. As can be seen, the flower has flowered out. The leaves of the hydrangea have also wilted and curled due to the frost. It is a still life of a dying plant that thus shows a beauty all its own. Little colour, a soft shade of brown, icy blue and black, are the colours that then remain. A still life of decaying life, a still life with lots of details. Note that this is a macro photo where limited sharpness was deliberately chosen to make the details of some of the flower petals and ice crystals stand out even more.
