Gängeskes are a unique feature of the Achterhoek village of Aalten. They were traditionally the connection between the exit roads and residents' gardens. They were often only two wheelbarrows wide. The old pattern of these gängeskes is still partly present. I took this photo of such a Gängeske on an early rainy morning.
