Garden inside the walls of the Bab El Kébir gate or the Udayas gate of the Kasbah of the Udayas, Rabat. Morocco.
The Oudayas kasbah, a fortification at the end of Rabat's medina, watches over the city. The magnificent gate in the citadel's carved walls gives access to Rue Jamaâ. The northern part of the kasbah still has the original Almohadian walls, 2.5 metres wide and 8 to 10 metres high. At the highest point rises the Bab el Kébir, built at the end of the 12th century for Yaqub al-Mansur. This ochre-coloured gate is a highlight of Almohadian art.
