Cepaea nemoralis nemoralis /Black-bordered garden snail.
Cepaea is a Latin transcription of the Greek kepaios (from kepos = garden), meaning grown in gardens.
The common garden snail has a wide range of color variations: white, yellow, pink, light brown, olive brown, and dark brown. The black edge of the common garden snail is only seen in adult specimens.
The common garden snail is primarily a waste eater, they eat plant and animal material such as dead leaves and dead earthworms, but they have a clear preference for living plants.
It is quite a challenge to photograph a snail properly. They are constantly on the move.
